What I actually think about the evolution debate is that I just don't know. There might be people who do know, but I am not one of them. I'm not a scientist or pastor, so there's no use trying to have a position based on very little information.

Ken Ham is apparently Australian!

He has a science degree and a teaching diploma. He taught science for two years in a high school but became dissatisfied that the textbook was causing his students to doubt the truth of the Bible.

OK, just so you don't take his claims of being a scientist too seriously.

He is definitely Australian. I love the accent. :p

From AiG, which I think can at least be trusted with the founder's education, "Ken’s bachelor’s degree in applied science (with an emphasis on environmental biology) was awarded by the Queensland Institute of Technology in Australia." That sounds like a scientist to me.

I spot an inherent contradiction there.

As I said, and for the sake of avoiding debate in our beautiful apolitical TET, please cross-reference everything with accredited sources. Science is one area where peer-review is vital.

I can do that. I definitely have nothing else to do with my time anymore.

But TET isn't beautiful. :p

Been reading a bit about that Ken Ham mentioned before. He appears to be quite the horrible cunt, and not even because he is a YECcie. From Wikipedia, that godless den of debauchery and hard science:

Creationism
According to Ham, he was inspired by his father, also a young Earth creationist, to interpret the Book of Genesis as "literal history" and first rejected what he termed "molecules-to-man evolution" during high school.

As a young Earth creationist and biblical inerrantist, Ham believes that the Book of Genesis is historical fact. Ham believes the age of the Universe to be about 6,000 years and asserts that Noah's flood occurred about 4,400 years ago in approximately 2348 BC. Astrophysical measurements and radiometric dating show that the age of the universe is about 13.8 billion years and the age of the Earth is about 4.5 billion years. Arguing that knowledge of evolution and the Big Bang require observation rather than inference, Ham urges asking scientists and science educators, "Were you there?" The Talk.origins archive responds that the evidence for evolution "was there," and that knowledge serves to determine what occurred in the past and when. "Were you there?" questions also invalidate creationism as science—an argument with which Ham himself agrees.

Sexuality
Ham believes that abortion, same-sex marriage, homosexuality, and being transgender are sinful. He believes that Christians should "take back the rainbow", a popular symbol for the LGBT movement. As a condition for employment at the Ark Encounter, AiG, as directed by Ham, requires workers to sign a statement that they view homosexuality as a sin.

Other beliefs
Ham rejects the scientific consensus on climate change.

Sometimes I like to eat standing up. a nice tomato sandwich, at the end of the summer when they're totally ripe, you need to eat those standing over the sink.
