BLM has supported some really great causes and held some protests that I thought were worthwhile. The basic message is a good one too. BLM has a lot of problems though and, at this point, I'm hesitant to view the movement as a uniformly or even principally good one, especially outside of the United States and the issue of police brutality.

I just realized, protestors tried to tear down a statue of George Washington because he owned slaves at a time when it was common and legal, even though it was wrong. Are they now going to demand we change the Capital City of the USA from Washington DC, to the District of Columbia? Should we change the name of the Capital City of the USA? I say no to the removal of the Statues, I say no to changing the name of the Capital City of the USA.

I'm aware of that and it's a shame too, I see the BLM protest as a good cause and the fact that some people are using the protest to vandalize and rob stores is quite sad.

They're calling for reform in the police system and justice for victims, not upheaval of the US government.
