Apparently the neo nazis purposely go there to antagonise the people there. I remember a few years ago some far right goon who got in a high profile view- turned out he had travelled all the way from like Idaho or some such just to be in the rally. It seems unlikely that these deaths are suicides. Most people wouldn't choose to hang themselves in public because 1) someone might see it and interfere and 2) most people don't want the sight of their corpse to horrify those who find it. I wouldn't put it past the police to be involved, they have shown time and time again that they are bloodthirsty or at least have a disregard for human life, although I would also entertain the idea that the police are not involved but lied about the deaths being suicide because they fear a lynching will lead to new uprisings.

Reminds me of Australia's populate or perish policy. In early 20th century Australia, the aussies really didn't want Southern or Eastern European immigrants, and tried to keep them out. However, after world War II, they basically said "well we either let these near whites in, or the definitely not white Asians will kick our ass." It doesn't mean Australia became friendly and accepting of immigrants overnight since there was still alot of racism toward Italians, Croats, Greeks, Lebanese and Maltese immigrants in Australia into the 1970s, but Australia had to expand their definition of whiteness at least in governmental policy to prevent their greater threat from occurring.

Same here in America. Americans didn't like Italians in the 1900s, but after everyone saw what Japan did in world War II and with the rise of the Civil rights movement, they basically said "we gotta take the Italians as a lesser of evils for practical reasons."

It's not really unusual. It's a growing thing in many parts of the United States. Hell, there are even neo-Nazi groups forming in Central America. People forget that the part of the world outside of central and southern Europe that had the most fascist sympathies was Latin America, especially towards Falangism.

Perhaps, but as an EMT in SoCal, the number of black patients we get on a 5150 hold for suicidal ideations is astounding. I don't think suicide is losing its stigma, but rather the hopelessness some feel living in the big city during the covid crisis is making suicide seem more appealing.

Usually suicidal hangings are from ceiling fans and not from trees. And yes, minorities do commit suicide alot but we don't like to talk about it.
