Yeah, the 2020 Asia World Cup Qualifiers have been delayed as well. This might take a toll on the schedule of the 2022 World Cup in Oil Land.

Apparently, they're using those slaves to build stadiums that look like mausoleums:

And Qatar pays people to look the other way. Bribery at its finest!

They probably bribe foreigners to become naturalized. The funny thing is not many Europeans will accept.
And the foreigners they use to become their slaves and build their World Cup stadiums come from Southern Asia. Qatar is really a case study in that you don't have to have any football infrastructure and stuff but you can bribe your way into hosting.

We might have teams playing in open prairies, if there's any in Qatar.

What does that have in common? Of course, blatant corruption, Qatar somehow won the Asian Cup (wtf right?) so maybe the WC will be stained even more with corruption smh

Well, in 2002, the referees were pretty stupid, but Korea is by no means corrupt as far as football is concerned. They managed to make the semi-finals on their own, but I agree they have had fortuitous moments, where many posts were hit by the opposition and such. It's odd how Qatar managed to beat their superiors like Japan, Korea, and other MIddle East teams in the Asian Cup. Definitely some backhand exchanges going on.

Yeah, South Korea is pretty clean but during that tournament, they were favored by some referees for being the co-host along Japan, especially in that infamous match against Italy and against Spain at a smaller but still significant level.

I think in that one Blatter wanted the hosts to do better and they had inexperienced referees. It's always Blatter that does corrupt stuff.

The 2002 WC has good overall but had details like those that had a negative impact on it, on the plus side, Senegal was a dark horse on its debut and did pretty well, Brazil was great, with R9 doing what he does best, score goals, the US beat Portugal and reached the quarterfinals beating arch rivals Mexico in the R16, who were also doing great, Germany was also on fire, Klose starting to prove himself at the international level. The next edition in Germany was better though imo.

Brazil eventually beat Germany to secure their fifth.

Yup, they won with an amazing squad, they also had everything to win it back-to-back in 2006 but Zidane and co. stopped them from doing so, then Materazzi took one for the Brazilians and we all know what happened next

Unfortunately Zidane couldn't keep his head level and capitulated to Materazzi's insults by headbutting him. If he were still in the game, France would have had more of a chance.

Yeah, that was his last game for France so it's more heartbreaking, maybe France would've won if Materazzi had kept his mouth shut, oh god, imagine if he had faced Cantona? Materazzi would have died from his response knowing his temper xD

Eric Cantona is quite an outspoken player about many things, including politics. He did kick a racist, hooligan fan one time because he lobbed insults at him telling him to "go back to France."
