Then they'll dub him as Sonaldinho. That guy has pace and he doesn't come up in the fastest players convo too much.

SOnaldinho, Sonbappe, Sonaymar.

He's the best player in all of Asia.

Before him, we got Cha and Park as the best Korean players.

Ah, yes. Cha Boom and Captain Park.

Park Ji-Sung's 2002 World Cup goal against Portugal was of sheer brilliance. No wonder he's been hailed as a team captain.
Not even Pepe can do that.

2002's final was a real spectacle. Brazil has world-beater superstars like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho, not to mention Cafu, Roberto Carlos, and a young Kaka. Germany had the likes of Kahn, Neuville, Klose, etc.

We got beaten by Germany in the semifinals, but we paid them back in 2018 with a 2-0 victory.

South Korea is world-class. The world knows it.

The World Cup curse struck Germany in 2018. Not really surprising to see.

It was more shocking to see Belgium down 2-0 considering the peak squad they had. Hazard was very class back then, but today he's just a shell of his former self and a Real Madrid flop.

Nope and he cost Real Madrid well over 100 million.

Not to ruin the moment but you also need to be aware that South Korea got to that semifinal in a rather dirty and corrupt manner. Surprised FIFA didn't rigged the Germany semifinal too.

Because Blatter is corrupt. That's all one needs to know.

Uh, you have to be kidding me. It's probably a popular rumor or fabrication from Japan or Italy and Spain, who lost humiliatingly to South Korea. There's really no concrete evidence on that.
I mean, Japan and Europe does this corruptive scheme all the time, to be honest.

No evidence? The fact Italy and Spain got fair goals utterly disallowed, cards handed at random, and on top of that, remember that ref at the Italy-SK game? He got arrested for drug trafficking. Coincidence? The entire knockout stage was rigged to the bone to South Korea for that juicy profit.

Uh, because the goals were shot at offside positions? Maybe, South Korea had the home advantage, but which teams at home do not have such an advantage?
I bet teams like Germany, Spain, Italy, and Japan pay the FIFA executives for the majority of the time for higher FIFA rankings or game advantages. Of course, Italy ran out of funds, hence failing to quality for the last World Cup.

My guy, emphasis on "fair goals". Watch the highlights, watch the replays, you'll see that for your eyes. I get South Korea is your favorite team (I assume you're Korean yourself) but even in these cases you have to admit your team did dirty. Also, why the hell would a top team pay to win? They have enough talent to win fairly, they do not did to bribe officials to win unless 1) they are desperate to win or 2) their regimes are authoritarian (see Argentina in 1978). South Korea did had the home advantage and that gave even a better reason to pay officials and referees to bribe their way into the semifinals, and I bet my life Qatar will do the same thing next year. And last thing, Italy "running out of funds" is the most ridiculous thing I've seen, not going to lie. Especially if you say the reason is the "bribing in 2002". They didn't qualified because they were dumb enough to keep the same old players every time without rotating them, not because of some corruption scandal. Hell, even Blatter said the refereeing at that World Cup was very bad, and he was the FIFA president at the time.

I don't think there was outright bribery in '02, a combination of overall poor refereeing throughout the tournament, some degree of home advantage but also South Koreans busted their guts throughout that tournament and they weren't a particularly bad team.

I was there actually, I watched US-Korea and then an abject France against Denmark.

The Korean team didn't necessarily bribe Sepp Blatter, it's probably Blatter doing something to indirectly benefit South Korea. I can see Qatar going full bribe mode in 2022 to reach the finals despite having 23 pieces of wood.

Because 1) South Korea were the hosts, that immediately generates reason #2) profit, we know FIFA loves corrupt money and probably number 3) underdog run also tends to get the attention more than the same powerhouses of forever winning. People would pay more to see Leicester win the 2016 title than City win the same league time and time again.

Unless Blatter and company are consiglieres to someone like Agnelli. Then they'll gladly help Agnelli rig Serie A forever.
