Also to say that Catholic countries all have a bad record on LGBT rights is false. They are not all like Poland.

Spain, for example, is 80% Catholic yet was also one of the first countries to legalise same sex marriage in the world in 2005 and is generally considered to be very welcoming to LGBT people.
