Apparently in 2018 the Calexit plan proposed giving half of state’s land away to an “autonomous Native American nation.”

I don’t care if they’re backed by Russia, that is the best buffer zone idea ever.

I used to be against Gun control. Now I'm not. Now I think guns are the SJW enemy and must be grabbed from everyone.

Thanks for nothing, BLM!

Either we give the businesses free guns, or we become Gun Grabbers and take away the guns. Either way is fine by me. Try both, see which one works better, and use the one that is more effective.

That was a police rumor, business owners in Capitol Hill are not saying that.

It seems pretty plausible to me the way you describe it.

What do rightists get out of it? They don’t even live there.

1. They can point to it and say, "see, this is proof of the inherent failures of anarchist communes."

2. It's another excuse to send a militarized police force in.

They don't really have a plan, since this was so spontaneous, and it's not like most of the people in the community were consulted. But yeah, it'd be difficult to build an autonomous zone in the middle of a US city...

Well if you want to add more definition to the image, I’d say it wasn’t just hipsters, and the organizing done by the Socialist Alternative and other groups in Seattle over the past several years helped lead to this moment, as a historical development.

1. clicks (aka ad revenue). seriously this is a big deal
2. something to scare people with (I guarantee you there is a 50something white lady in Pierce County somewhere losing her mind bc she thinks BLM ancom revolutionaries are about to drive out to her cul de sac and kill her family, and she's going to be more likely to vote and donate to right wing causes)
3. a justification to use force against people they dislike (you needn't look further than Cotton's op-ed or Trump's tweets to see that many in the American right would love to be able to launch a violent crackdown on ppl they see as undesirable elements, aka people of color and leftists)

I mean yes the CHAZ has no legal authority to “evict” anyone, I mean eviction as a metaphor for all the political confrontations that led up to the point of the SPD deciding to leave the area. I agree it is probably less dramatic than actual evictions, which actually do ruin people’s lives, and is something the CHAZ probably has a lot to say about re: housing, rent, and land reform in Seattle.

Quoting some person on the Internet who claims to live in Capitol Hill. They seem relatively well-off and come across as quite arrogant, but I trust their take on CHAZian demographics.

CHAZ is about four groups of people:

[*]Raz Simone and his half-dozen buddies taking pictures of themselves with guns
[*]About 10-15 BLM speakers who are still vainly trying to make this about criminal justice
[*]20-30 anarchists/communists and Kshama Sawant disciples whose main objective is to convince their friends in Brooklyn and on social media that they've done something important for the cause.
[*]20-30 bored, unemployed hipsters and college kids who just want to smoke pot and ironically pretend like they're a part of Sealand 2.0

Voted 1 week to 1 month in the poll.
