Uhh, the only reference I see is some woman in the last thread insisting the CHAZ protestors somehow stopped police from doing forensics on a body found on a beach 20 miles away, and then when that was pointed out to her insisting it was probably a CHAZ killer who drove there!

It should have worked anyway. When you have a small community (everyone knows everyone else) and a high ratio of "police" to community, even an untrained force should be able to do OK.

There's a big difference between "difficult to get arrested for wrongdoings" and "impossible to get arrested for wrongdoings".

Cops are legally exempted from accountability for their actions by way of qualified immunity. It is literally not legally possible to hold them to account in the same way that any other person can be hold to account.

The creator(?) of CHAZ is claiming that EMS were corrupt for not helping a man who was shot and attacking them for literally following the law, their SOPs, and their protocols. And, you know, valuing their life.

For anyone who doesn't know, EMS cannot enter violent crime scenes without police securing it first. The ONLY exception is combat medics, of which there were none available. We should not expect EMTs and paramedics to put their lives in danger more than they already do (fun fact: at any given point, roughly 15-20% of ALL EMTs/paramedics are out of service due to receiving an injury on the job) to save lives. They get assaulted all the time and considering there was an active shooter, you cannot expect unarmed uniformed individuals (who are already hated simply for being uniformed + cooperating with police) to go in there. Their lives > the lives of their patients (which, he wasn't a patient at that moment fyi), if it has to come to it. And no, for the smoothbrain on Twitter who claimed they were breaking their oaths by not helping, no they were not. They are trained to value their lives first, as they should. We're already understaffed as is, and they can't continue to save lives if they're dead. And before anyone says "well who would attack EMS?" the answer is plenty of people. Plenty of people will also shoot and kill them, rob them, hold them hostage, beat them, rape them, etc. It happens every single day and if I recall correctly, they're injured on duty at rates higher than the police.

The man who was shot did not die due to EMS negligence, he died because the people around him failed to create anything close to a Utopia and protect him. He died because someone murdered him. He died because the people around him refused to let police in and secure the scene so he could receive medical intervention. The """medics""" in CHAZ did nothing, because guess what? They don't know how to treat anything at all. Because I guarantee you none of them are actual trained medical professionals.

I just got done watching a very good segment on Q13 FOX (a local channel) regarding the CHAZ and the growing resentment that residents of the Hill are feeling towards it. Idk if the zone is gonna die soon, but it seems there's a growing number of people there who are displeased and want the mayor or governor to do something.

Officials in Seattle on Monday ordered protesters to leave the self-declared Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone after a pair of weekend shootings left one person dead and two injured.

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best told reporters that her department has no firm timeline for returning to an abandoned police station within the zone. Authorities vacated the East Precinct this month amid increasingly tense protests over the killing of George Floyd.

Mayor Jenny Durkan said it wouldn’t be effective to have authorities clear out the roughly six-block area in the city’s Capitol Hill section. Officials are working with Black-led organizations and “partners in de-escalation” to get the hundreds of people who have occupied the area to leave, she said.

“It’s time for people to go home,” she said, adding that it was time “to restore order and eliminate the violence on Capitol Hill.”
