The Democrats should definitely let this pass. Hell, they should run with it. Actually changing the party name might not fly, but they should call Gohmert's bluff, say he makes a good point and do something to show that they want to formally break from the party's racist history.

It does though. Yes, some might have economic anxiety about immigrants, but allot of that turns into hate, jealousy, and racism. It is very possible for someone to be worried about their job (even if irrational) and be racist at the same time. These things arn't mutually exclusive.

So yes, Xenophobic parties in the past have been very racist. Anyone with a basic knowledge of anti-immigration parties in the 1800s and 1920s knows this. Even now. Trump did start his campaign by calling most Mexicans rapist and murders, all be it a few good ones.

While there is often overlap, crying "Xenophobia" whenever anti immigration platforms arise discredits the actual concerns brought up, such as the replacement and outsourcing of jobs by large companies, which largely are a contributing factor to turning people xenophobic, as you yourself have said

It’s similar to people crying Racism whenever someone brings up legitimate issues with the black community, such as the disproportionate lack of fathers and disproportionately high single parent households, as well as the crime rate. These are problems we need to deal with, not ignore

Considering this issues are only ever brought up by white people when trying to deflect from discussions about systemic racism, yes, you can generally safely say that non-blacks bringing up those issues are racist.

Well.
Yes, but no. Those are legitimate problems, but they are often brought up by one of three types of people. 1: Racists who want to obfuscate from the policies the country has taken that cause those outcomes.
2: Individualists who want to obfuscate from the policies the country has taken that cause those outcomes.
3: People who actually care about the community.
Typically, you can tell the three apart by when they bring it up and how they treat it. If the only time they talk about these things is when the conversation is on racism or discrimination, then you can assume they’re either in one of the one of the first two groups.
It’s kinda like how the Men’s Rights movement has very legitimate grievances, but if the only time y’bring them up is when people are talking about feminism, it’s not hard to conclude you just don’t like women’s rights.

You know how H1-B visas work, right? Also, I forgot to mention immigrants willing to work for less, turning large corporations to replace locals for profit, although that’s more of a European issue than an American one

…You realize that outsourcing of jobs and immigration aren’t actually related, right? Yeah, they’re both helped along by large corporations, but outsourcing jobs just means sending them outside the country, and it’s hard to do square that one with people coming in. Anti-immigrant belief, however, does seem to be based on xenophobia, even if it’s more of a lack of understanding on how immigration and the economy interact.
