It's a joke.

Some of us noticed that in the UK they distinguish between "White African" Britons and "Black African" Britons (the "Britons" part is sometimes left off, a bit racist imo). It's quite valid there, as they have a lot of white immigrants from South Africa and from Zimbabwe. The US however doesn't make that distinction, maybe for racist reasons or maybe because there aren't enough white immigrants from Africa to make a fuss about it. Lacking the demonym "White African-Americans" those people can technically be called African-Americans. I don't like the term myself, I think the US should use descriptive terms like "black" for race, instead of harking back many generations for where everyone "came from". But I'll use it if African-Americans choose the term.

Jokes are never so funny if they have to be explained, are they?

Kanye might want to think this over if he's doing it as a pure publicity stunt. Look what happened the last time someone ran as a stunt.

What's the odds that he thinks saying he's doing it on twitter is all he thinks he needs to do to be on the ballot?

So he is increasing Trumps chances for a second term ? Or is he taking away Trumps black magas ?

West/Musk does have a certain ring to it.

West will likely die.
Musk up to the sky!

So, we return to the age old question:

Why do only silly people want to be president of the USA ?

It's not even worth entertaining a Kanye Candidacy, especially when he has little time to meet the stringent signature requirements in some States. Just let it go.

Anyway, onto a more serious topic: Susan Rice sees her stock rise in Biden VP race. I'm don't view her as the best choice: there are certainly better choices though her personal chemistry with Biden and her experience in foreign policy do stand out. The Benghazi stuff is also concerning but she has been attacked on the stuff for 8 years so it's expected she can counter the GOP's baseless attacks on her, at least, the ones that are baseless.

If Jo wasn’t running I would’ve unironically voted for Kanye.

Vermin Supreme has him beat there.
And yet - and this is the scary part - his ideas are less silly than those of the people who actually have a shot.

I will never make pronouncements like that after the horror of 2016.

We all know why Trump got elected. Hillary was shit, didn’t properly campaign, and a lot of people couldn’t connect with her/felt forgotten by society.

Trump came in and said he’ll fix it. Kanye isn’t going to be a spoiler because nobody on the democrats are going to vote for a guy who says Trump is the greatest

Not to mention, the Democrats now have a candidate who knows how to properly campaign (see Wisconsin as a prime example), isn't as shitty, and can actually show empathy and relate.

Certainly, Trump can still win, but he's going to have even a tougher time replicating the results he got in 2016.

Yeah, the same ones who would've written in Mickey Mouse or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or literally any person who's not running and doesn't stand a chance.

Stein and Johnson helped Trump win what's to say West couldn't do the same?

And of course there were Dems that were complacent and didn't vote because they thought their candidate was going to win, which is a foolish assumption anyway cause the only way you can help them win is by voting for your candidate.

complacency is how Republicans win
