Because those three things are inextricably tied to open and honest elections.

*shrug* Reasonable limitations on freedoms are a necessary part of any society.

The establishment of a one-party state, the logical extension of what you advocate, is not necessary nor is it reasonable. It is also not compatible with those three things you claim to stand for.

If Trump does manage to get the DHS to stand by polling places in November in areas he's unpopular, is there any chance that governors will use the national guard to prevent voter intimidation?

This is just corrupt asf. Delays are rampant in the USPS now too do to cuts and new rules set in place by the Pro-Trump USPS Director.

It took three weekdays for my grandma and I, to get mail and for them to take my ballot. They usually come everyday. Something is up.

In other words, the USPS will deliver the mail like they always have, if you want your mail prioritized, you can buy priority mail

Nah, constitutional rights should be prioritized.

Sounds like the time Maryland used the national guard to guard its N-95 masks from federal agents sent by Trump to take them.

Republicans control the Senate and the White House, so absolutely nothing. They'd do it anyway of course, because sabotaging and undermining the government so that they can tell the people how government doesn't work is standard behavior for Republicans, but now it has the bonus effect of facilitating voter suppression, the core of their electoral strategy.

Sen. Kamala Harris has unfollowed Biden on Twitter.

People believe she might be angry she wasn't picked, but it might be because she is making a new account for a VP run.

I'm hoping it's the first option.

So, there are two Harris accounts: one is her normal account; the other her Senator account. The latter is following Biden; the former not, and the reason I know that is because I followed Harris' accounts, and then checked Biden's. I'm not sure which one this person is referencing.

Ah I see. That is rather interesting than.

I too hope it's the former although there's a louder push among Black Activists for Biden to pick a Black woman, claiming he'll pay a steep price if the woman isn't Black. It seems some are ignoring Harris' past, as well as Demings for the few Black women considered though Demings is by far a better choice than Harris. Now to me, Biden should pick the best person regardless of race- and in my opinion, that's Duckworth, although I do think Bass, Demings, Warren, Whitmer, or Rice wouldn't be bad choices either.

While I'm not a slobbering fan of my governor, I have a major problem with no good fucks like Maxine Water threatening to abandon trump if he picks her just because she's white.

If you vote based on skin color alone, you deserve the horror of another 4 years of Trump. As far as im concerned, if Whitmer is his best option, he should pick her, and either people will vote for him and vote Trump out, or Maxine Waters and her campaign of hate will convince them to stay home only for them to hypocritically bitch on election night when one of the dumbest presidents in American history gets awarded a second term, and they get what they deserve.

Oh wait a minute, it is thanks to millions of white identity politics voters. Funny how identity politics often leads to people voting for evil creeps just because "he looks like i do and says he'll protect us from those horrible people from another race."

Sacrificing certain constitutional rights for others makes as much sense as the president acting as a human shield for the secret service.

It is always a bit amusing how overwhelmingly white Christian Republicans, whose entire platform is about returning to the 'good old days' when belonging to those two groups meant that no matter how shitty your life was otherwise you were still automatically higher on the social ladder than anyone not in those groups, insist that's it's the Democrats who are the party of 'identity politics' who hold on to power by promoting racial and religious division...which totally explains how they manage to herd pretty much every ethnic, religious, sexual and other minority in the country into something resembling a coalition willing to cooperate and compromise with eachother.

It's not white Christians fault that it turns out that absolutely everyone who isn't a white Christian are the racist intolerant ones, but only against white Christians, thus explaining why white Christians have to band together behind people like Trump to protect white Christians from all those people obsessed with identity politics!

I'm not fond of the idea of voting by the color of one's skin (as you mentioned in a post above yours). To me, the color of one skin shouldn't even be a factor and I get that yes, we need to empower more Black women but regardless, Biden needs to pick the best person he thinks will help him: he wants a team player, and the likes of Harris aren't it. But in politics, particularly here in America, we do have people that do like to pull at the racial and cultural tensions, Trump being a prime example of that.
