Did America actively lie and suppress statistics ... causing the global spread of the pandemic during the Spanish Flu?

Actually, nations on both sides of WW1, including the United States censored news about the flu to keep up morale - both in their armies and in their citizenry. It's called the Spanish Flu simply because Spain - a country at peacetime during WW1 - reported the news publicly first, after their King fell ill when it swept through their nation in the Spring of 1918.

Spanish media continued reporting on it while the United States and other nations involved in the war censored news about its spread, going so far as to declare the whole thing over in July of that year, a month before the second wave killed millions. A second wave that, perhaps, people could've been prepared for.

Sure, we can get into semantics of whether hiding the truth is considered lying. I don't think it is, but it's equally as bad.

There was a shortage of physicians in America at the time, due to the war, and after the hospitals filled up, makeshift hospitals were staffed by medical students, not doctors. If we wanted to arrest Doctors, we'd have to hunt them down lol.

1) I seriously doubt that Mr. Spock, a man who devoted much of his existence to logic & reason, would vote Republican in 2020.
2) Mr. Spock would likely believe that the needs of the many (American citizens exposed to Covid-19) outweigh the needs of the few (Donald Trump & his cronies).
3) There are many real Americans who will take a Spock-like tack in this election & see Joe Biden & the Democrats as the best logical choice.

Spock logically posted to support your anti Trump personal and political views in details, lol. I just posted it to this one issue, I think both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party have such supporters, but I would not use the word as described above. I always mean what I say. I will never report a fellow nation over an RP, unless they bait, flame and troll. I will never put any fellow nations on ignore for any personal or political reasons. I hate to see any fellow nations banned from NS forever, because we all love NS. I hate the culture we have on NS of reporting our fellow nations for anything we can think of to hurt our fellow nations. I will only report any nation I think might have broken an NS rule of decency against me. But even then, I have looked the other way many times, and I will look the other way many times. But If I think they went too far, I have no choice. I might report on the behalf of a person I think I owe a favor too. I count 748 characters or so including spaces.

Biden has been quoted twice in the article but if you look at the download there's a bit more. “I come from the corporate state of America, many of you incorporated here,” said Mr. Biden. “It used to be that corporate America had a sense of responsibility beyond just CEO salaries and shareholders.”

“Corporate America has to change its ways. It’s not going to require legislation. I’m not proposing any. We’ve got to think about how we deal people back in.”

Biden is speaking of Delaware as the corporate state, which it is. I think Joe is signaling his expectations are to see improvements in corporate responsibility. That's good. But he's also talking about "re-imagining and rebuilding a new American economy" if you look at the download. So this is Joe sweet talking them politically for financial support and asking for their help after the election to build a better economy that deals people in. That's how a Dem needs to talk to business leaders if he wants to get elected.

You can relax now, Kow.

I agree with this point of view as I was thinking this too! Did you read my mind or something? :p

Who cares what Biden says? Mr. "Not Trump" won't be elected on the basis of his popularity, talent, or promises, and he is going to do whatever the Democratic Party tells him to. If Biden's words bother you, just confront the party as a whole and make him fold.

Check out a few articles on The Jacobin.
See what a real leftist bias looks like.
Then "Sanders too centrist" will seem more plausible to you.

Sanders isn't a full Socialist. He calls himself a Democratic Socialist for a reason.

I got whiplash hearing a Lumen argument from somebody other than Lumen. But hey, I liked Beto before his presidential run - both of them? Didn't he randomly relaunch his campaign in the middle of his campaign? Does that count as two runs?

Trust me, Ted Cruz losing would be great, and Beto came close. Maybe he can do it if he tries again, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
