If it wasn't for the pandemic the SNL skit on the VP race would be a riot. Maya Rudolph is a hilarious Harris.

Nope :p, we won't hear from Biden on his running mate, at least, not today. I think the earliest will be August 1st, and that's if we're lucky on that day

And she's also a Progressive and Black, so Biden would be checking off a good amount of boxes. Sure, her age (66) and her not coming from a swing State may seem like turnoffs, but she's overall a well-rounded figure.

Tough to say but yeah, usually it's the person we least expect. She be one of the better options, of course.

Why would not coming from a swing state be a turnoff? Having a black woman on the ticket would likely drive black turnout to 2008 levels and she would likely help with youth turnout as well.

Yeah, people bet on unlikely things because if they pay out, they'll pay out a shitload. Sometimes the horse, team, or potential vice-presidential nominee that's 1000:1 wins.

Which you definitely would, but still.

Repeatability would be one reason, especially in a key area called the Rust Belt though this factor is not as large as it was back in March. No candidate he picks will be perfect. However, he's likely going to pick someone that emulates him when he was VP: loyal, hard working, strong bond, and ready to lead if something happens to Biden.

I second all of that and whomever he picks is likely going to be the nominee in 2024 or 2028 should he be victorious and if he runs for a second term which I’ve heard rumors he might not

Almost makes me wish there was an actual Ben Ghazi who was a senator or governor or something.

Getting a little down In the weeds but there has been a massive upset in New York. 47 year incumbent assemblymen Joe Lentol has lost his primary to Emily Gallagher. The district contains the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn. No republican filed to run in this ultra blue district

Six other members of the assembly lost their primaries.
