It's mostly rum essence. If they added actual rum then the alcohol would interfere with the freezing of the ice cream.


A little local shop (J.P. Licks) made a Kalhua ice cream with so much Kalhlua in it, it was always half frozen (or half thawed depending on your perspective) it was so amazing especially with M&M's folded into it.

Oohh, that reminds me of a popular drink of my early adulthood. It had Kahlúa liquor, vodka, vanilla ice cream, ice, cinnamon and whipped cream. Delicious.

My mum used to make a Christmas pudding ice cream at Christmas, basically it was vanilla ice cream with all the dried fruit and chopped peel that you get in Christmas pudding. Much nicer after a heavy meal than the standard British Christmas pudding.

My mum does a version where it's just a smallish christmas pudding crumbled into the vanilla ice cream. She makes lemon biscuits to go with it.

One of my colleagues got a fish bone stuck in the throat for a few hours from lunch. It was scary but eventually it was somehow gone.
