To answer the poll question, it's a toss-up between rum and raisin or clotted cream ice cream.

Does rum raisin have real rum? I don’t wanna get drunk eating ice cream.

It's mostly rum essence. If they added actual rum then the alcohol would interfere with the freezing of the ice cream.

I'm not sure about that. A solution 10% alcohol by volume (ie quite strong) freezes at 25F (-4C) which isn't that much different.

If you wanted ice-cream as strong as spirits then yeah you'd need a better freezer. Also a long hard think about where you life is going!

Häagen-Dazs makes a line of ice cream with spirits in them. As for rum-raisin, I always thought the raisin were macerated in rum, so that there would be very little real booze in them when they went into the ice cream.

They aren't soaked long enough to get properly plump, you'd have to eat the same raisins by the spoonful to feel anything.

Hard to say since it depends how I feel, I have a specific company I like for strawberry, I occasionally like mint chocolate cookie, and I love ginger ice cream. Though one of my favorite is from this little shop outside DC which sells dark chocolate orange. Now that is good stuff.

We had a local dairy brand here, that was based out of the North Shore (north of Lake Ponchartrain) that used locally grown strawberries for their ice cream. Sadly, that company dissolved their Ice Cream division and are sticking only to Milk nowadays. I really miss their ice cream.
