The mentality of the typical Urukkian minister: Claim to use the only best characteristics from all of the different ideologies but in reality lean more towards totalitarianist ideas.

Tried Thai Milk Tea before?

Goodness, yes. Best tea I've ever tasted, probably. Though the odd orange color was a bit disconcerting at first. But yes, it's quite good.

I’ve been wanting to try milk tea. I wonder if the local Asian markets might sell it.

From what I’ve heard they are overall decent, but like with any restaurant it can come down to each establishment and how it is operated. For example, Golden Corral and Dairy Queen are alleged to be astounding eateries but I ate at a Golden Corral in New Orleans and a Dairy Queen in Dallas and both of those that I ate at were atrocious.

I’ve also eaten at Golden Corral’s and Dairy Queen’s elsewhere that were great.

Golden Corral and Dairy Queen are NOT great food. They are cheap and plentiful food.

A difference.

Well I’m afraid you can’t speak for what went into my mouth those two specific times. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not flag-bearing for them over here. But I do believe even overrated chain restaurants can have isolated hot spots. And I do have good taste in food overall, your not speaking to someone who grew up on ravioli and koolaid after all.

Now if the cutting me all to pieces for complementing two specific restaurants for having competent cooks that actually dished out a well prepared buffet that one time is finished - back to it.

I've eaten at several up and down the eastern seaboard, and while I can't attest to what you ate, I can attest to what I did in multiple locations.

They are on my "well, it's a known quantity" list -- mediocre food, but it won't kill you.

And it wasn't a personal attack, so please, get down off that cross.

I would say if they decide to run this promotion again, that they specify that if you leave the rice, you pay for the rice.

The sentiment was more so derived of I made that post - what? - days ago and I’m still catching flak off of it. Trust me I’ve eaten at far better than GC and DQ. I was simply saying I’ve eaten at two of each, one of each being terrible and one of each being good. That’s been my personal experience with most chain deals. It comes down to the cooks/chefs and management really.

Hi, errr, since this is the food thread, I guess I can drop this here.

We already produce enough food for over 10 billion people.

So where are we going wrong? Why do children starve? Why do people go hungry?

As the late Sam Kinison said, they don't live where the food is.

The IFPRI estimate it would cost at least 11 billion a year to feed all humans. The US spends over 2 billion a day on defense alone.

Why do I get to live a life of ease? Thousands starve; people who did not deserve to die over a commodity we produce enough of; and we just ignore that? It's, infuriating. Evening assuming it cost over 10 times that to feed people, 100 billion, the Pentagon spends over 700 billion a year. Would it really kill us to take a bit of money from that?

I actually should consider donating. Although, relying on private charity to stop people from starving to death is, questionable, but eh.

But seriously. On a more food related note, before this thread gets threadjacked, what type of cuisine is objectively the most filling.
