I had a good dinner at Marche today! Beef Bolognese with Spaghetti.

It's Swiss food.

I think the worst food I've ever had for its given prices were in Switzerland (Lucerne to be exact); the cheese fondue I got was more boozy than the punch bowl at a college rager with no discernible cheese taste, Swiss McDonalds have astronomical prices for subpar-quality food (even by fast food standards), and every other meal I had in Lucerne was boring to the point of being completely forgettable, in comparison to meals I've had in other European countries, as well as the most expensive meals, too.

What's up with Swiss restaurants charging so much for so little?

A rich source of fats and sugars together is pretty rare in nature. We find it very hard to resist as it seems like a very valuable source of energy. Hence the problems.

I rewatched American Gangster and there's a part where the cop finds the drugs in the gangster's car and says: "What are we gonna do about this?"

Denzel: "We gonna do ^%& about it. Close it up, throw it back in the trunk. Everybody go home and have some pumpkin pie, some warm apple cider."

Anybody ever had pumpkin pie with warm apple cider?

By the way, what's the difference between apple juice and apple cider? And would he be talking about the alcoholic or non-alcoholic type?

Apple juice is more heavily filtered, and then is pasteurized so that it stays good longer. Cider is made from mashed apples, so there's more pulp, and it's not pasteurized.

Hot alcoholic cider sounds absolutely disgusting. He would have been talking about the non-alcoholic variant, which is a traditional autumn beverage, alongside pumpkin spice everything :P
