Yup :)

Just a heads up for the ones who just learn about this, these are whiskey rocks. Don't put unused* kitty litter in the freezer and then in your whiskey. These rocks have been made/designed specifically to keep whisky cool.

* also definitely do not use used kitty litter :meh:

My mother and I were debating about this.

I said, “no rocks” is the way to go for high end whiskey because it just doesn’t make sense to mix a drink that’s thousands of dollars+ with frozen water from the tap that’s worth “nothing...”

You can’t even much control what’s in the tap and presumably you’re not going to buy high end mineralized water just to turn into ice cubes? You’re really going to subject high quality whiskey from the UK or wherever to the random factor of the tap water of local municipalities? It can’t be “proper” if you care (a lot of people don’t which is perfectly fine).

It's a good idea to use distilled water for your ice cubes. Making the ice cubes big also reduces their surface area, which cuts down on the dilution.

Sounds like too much work. I like the actual rocks idea better.

I can't drink whiskey, but I like brandy, which also has a rocks/neat divide.

I drink that neat.

I see. This could viably restrict the degree of dilution. Do you do this? You add distilled ice cubes for whiskey?

I don't like ice in whisky or whiskey, but to me it does benefit from a tiny amount of water, so I just wet the inside of the glass.

I see...

In Taiwan they like to add ice cubes to Johnny Walker. I feel like this is too controversial for me.

That's why I avoid Nestle products. Their horrible record when it comes to people. Have for years. Ever since I first heard about the formula milk scandal.

Their chocolate was always waxy, from what I recall. I don't miss it.

An overview of Nestle's previous acts (including the milk scandal).

Mars and Kit Kat are so good though :(

I focus only on quality of products for my personal consumerism

I see that your approach is different

I prefer red wine and iced beer.

I got drunk off a pineapple Johnny Walker and was hungover for the next 24 hours... it was absolutely excruciating. I had to clear it all with lots and lots of tea; I really thought I would die from the pain and nausea. The taste remained in my mouth for a whole month after... =(

Nestlé, being the ruthless multinational it is, tends to literally suck communities dry in order to bottle up their water for profit. One Nestlé CEO actually said that he did not consider access to drinking water to be a basic human right, which is beyond cold.
