Oooh, Chinese food? One of my favorites is Sweet and Sour Pork. Or Chicken. You can never go wrong with that! ^^

Sweet and sour pork/chicken is really the only Chinese food I really like.

That being said, I do like crab rangoon, but I can only eat one or two at a time (like hush puppies).

I do like the occasional sweet and sour chicken. There's this independent Chinese place near me (well, a town or two over, but -- under normal circumstances -- worth the travel), run by this lovely couple who left China. They have an excellent understanding of the gluten-free diet and do the most perfect sweet and sour chicken you've ever tasted.

They made me a convert to the potentials of sweet and sour; I'd never really enjoyed it before.

I read that, but I stuck to rice, because -- with the crème fraîche -- I always found stroganoff a bit of a heavy sleeper and rice is lighter than pasta (for me).

I might try replacing rice with a small serving of pasta next time I have stroganoff (which probably won't be for a little while).

Oh, I finally ordered some of the vegetarian fish sauce you pointed out from way back here. I should be trying it pretty soon (so many Thai recipes you can't make with no fish sauce), so I'll let you know how it turns out.

EDIT: The curry paste from the same brand has worked out well -- spicier than the previous brand, but very good.

I'll be interested in hearing how the non-piscine fish sauce is. And I'll keep rice in mind next time I make stronganoff. Chicken is good in that and I've done pork, too. You need to make sure the meat doesn't dry out, though. I did some bone-in chicken breasts on the grill the other night and poached them the day before so they spent the least amount of time on the fire.Turned out very well (poached them by bringing them to a simmer and then, after ten minutes or so, moved them off the heat and let the sit in the hot water for two hours or so).

I tried that vegetarian fish sauce you pointed to last night.

You use it on a one for one basis. You can tell it doesn't have fish (it lacks the strong smell of normal fish sauce, for one thing), but it adds the right flavour that gives the dish the same kind of depth and balance (yesterday, I tried it in a dressing that uses fish sauce -- one of my favourite meals; also one that's easiest to notice if it works or not). It worked very well.

I like the Dan Dan noodles. There’s good places for that in this city.

The other noodles I love is Stewed noodles with mutton.I love mutton soup.It has a strong aroma and can stimulate taste buds more than beef broth

Right now, like before? Ohh, just some fast gourmet burger. It's... it's pretty expensive, but I can see why people like it. It's not something you eat everyday, lest you break your own wallet, but it's pretty okay.

It typically took 1-2 hours for that (at least for my very first time). Right now... shoot, 5 mins and you are in.

Now you are making my mouth water! For me, the very best sweet and sour pork I have ever had was from Crystal Jade, and for a very good reason - the prices are crazy! And it's one of those high-end restaurants.

Peach Gardens in Marina Bay / Gardens by The Bay is another one, for a slightly lower price, but same great taste. Unfortunately, that was under renovation.
