Sure, but what's to stop someone from carrying this line of reasoning to aforementioned local businesses? Or, for that matter, people's homes? I'm typically of the opinion that slippery slope arguments are fallacious ~99% of the time, but this is one of the rare instances where I think it's valid (maybe not so much homes, as it's different enough that justification would be harder, but going from larger corporations to smaller businesses isn't a huge stretch--especially once you've successfully looted all the corporations in the immediate vicinity).

oh sure, innocent until proven guilty unless its a guy putting a knee to some guys back.
then you can scream murder and have people burn down a few inner city areas to *really* give this place a great, third world country feel.

Small businesses without insurance have already been looted. Those are often minority ran as well.
A large amount of wealth in the black community has been destroyed by these riots.

Goines was one of six retired HPD officers charged with a total of 15 felonies Wednesday.
“Allegations include using false information to get judges to sign search warrants, falsifying time sheets, putting false information in offense reports and falsifying governments documents to steal,” Ogg’s office said in a statement.
Goines is accused of lying in a search warrant affidavit in January 2019 that he had a confidential informant buy small baggies of heroin from a man at a southeast Houston home. Goines later told HPD investigators he had bought the heroin himself.

Given that there's literal video evidence of it happening? Not the same thing at all.

Well, it probably is not entirely irrelevant. Considering the cop apparantly knew Floyd and his violent history, that Floyd was yelling he could not breathe well before any cop even touched him and that the team that arrested him was pretty multiracial one can wonder if Floyd truly was the best posterchild for the anti-police protests.
Especially when so many other examples exist...

You would think this. Why make Floyd the martyr? It's confusing.
But then you realize it was never about George Floyd.
