I'm assuming that the rifles are being issued one or two per school on an "in case of active shooter, break glass" basis.

The grenade launchers are because 40mm beanbags are pretty effective at taking down someone armed with a knife or blunt instrument, and Karen doesn't complain as much as she does when you use 9mm FMJ to subdue them.

It's more organized now than it was at first which is why you're seeing less wonton violence. The police however have not become less aggressive and instead are getting worse by the day.

Like I said in the first post, the MRAP is ridiculous. If the situation is bad enough that an armored vehicle is needed, I doubt that the LA Schools Police armored vehicle will be on the scene any faster than an LAPD/LA County Sheriff/CHP armored vehicle.

Three years ago, the city of Huntington was hit by a wave of drug related violence that killed like 20 people. That doesn't seem like alot of people till you consider that Huntington isn't a large city, so the murder rate was through the ceiling. Huntington was like the 4th most dangerous American city at one point. While the crime rate has dropped slightly, it is still a very dangerous and drug infested place and over 90% of the city's residents are white folks. It got so bad in Hungtington that they sent in the national guard.

Crime is a class issue, not a race issue. People who can't seem to comprehend that are ghosts of a century-disproven theory regarding this very matter. People complain about rich people in power because the rich have different priorities than the middle-class or the poor. What's worse is when they're allowed free reign over their local areas and people don't realize it.

Police were and are quiet and compliant in letting small businesses and housing for the poor burn because ultimately that's not where they get their paycheck from. They get their paychecks from the wealthy and can receive employment if they get fired from the public sector as a private sector security guard. Private Security is far more lax on 'brutality' laws and for some of the elite, it's preferred that you have dangerous body guards that generally are armed, given that the wealthy rarely trust public sector institutions anyways. Some good examples of this have to do with the police in Seattle standing largely by and letting looters and rioters create the CHAZ.

It's an area where not a lot of money was initially invested by the higher ups in society and so when push came to shove, the police and the greater metropolitan area ceded the territory and has let them run rampant. You can also look at the majority of locations where protests devolved to looting and rioting and see that despite the optics, police counter-action has relaxed once protestors moved away from wealthier locations. Monuments and memorials are classless having open and public access and so police are less likely to want to protect them, but will penalize those they find vandalizing said locations.

My whole take on the matter is let them burn themselves out. The nation has heard their initial protests, but the locations that have turned to looting upon achieving critical mass should just be allowed to move through. Keep police back, off the lines, as they need to be reevaluated and there needs to be serious questions about who is allowed to interact with the public now. If you want to penalize looters and rioters, let the media do the job of simply filming them and track them down later. The FBI and other law enforcement agencies have the resources to do so and plenty of looters and rioters can likely be identified and penalized as appropriate.

No arrests are needed, just mail them a bill for their share of the damages and give them the option, pay up or give names of fellow looters and split the cost with them. We really don't need boots on the ground for the current issue, the cities just try and make themselves look better or worse by doing so, often falling into the latter category.

Whenever bigots start talking about profiling, I just remember a major meth-lab bust in town a while back where the local paper ran photos of the suspects and the cops involved in the bust on the front page, and the only way you could tell the cops from the criminals was the uniforms. All of them white, all of them the same high-and-tight haircut, all of them the same "I spend more time working out than I do thinking" build.

Atlanta Police shoot and kill Richard Brooks in a Wendy's Drive through.

It appears that Brooks was sleeping in the drive through, and failed a sobriety test. He resisted arrest, and attempted to grab the Cops taser when it was pointed at him. This led to police fatally shooting him.

GBI is investigating, apparently there is video of the altercation.

While I dont have enough information to make a judgement call just yet, this clearly shows that US cops are far to quick to pull the trigger. I find it hard to believe that two police officers had no other recourse in this situation than to fire their weapon.

It isn't though. Several of West Virginia's largest cities are very dangerous and West Virginia is mostly white.
