I am glad for the advancements in reuseability, but disappointed that politics forbade the advancements to have been achieved in a non-profit/(fully public and vertically integrated) method earlier.

If only the German rocket scientists were encouraged to peacefully and publicly advance rocketry.
Or if only the original fully reusable Shuttle/Uragan (Buran) had not been canceled.
Or if only space programs had more funding and achieved more vertical integration in order to avoid so many middle men raising the cost and adding to the delays.
