While I'm out here having no sympathy for that lady getting fire extinguisher sprayed due to her actions, I'm not gonna sit here and have people spread this "ooh ahh someone in a wheelchair can walk, they're not really disabled" business. There are plenty of people who are not completely unable to use their legs, and can move for short distances or stand up briefly, and it does not make them any less disabled or less deserving of wheelchair use than those who can't. There can be joint conditions, lung conditions, heart conditions, stamina problems, stability issues, and all sorts of other things that mean periods of standing or walking for past a certain distance or beyond a couple of minutes is seriously bad news, and they use wheelchairs because it permits them to accomplish more than they otherwise would be able to do without harming themselves. The same goes for people who can temporarily walk away from their canes or have days where they don't require one as much.

You have no idea what a stranger's conditions are or to what extent they go, and you certainly should not be using something that already gets used on a regular damn basis to deny disabled people support or to harass them because abled people think they know better as a 'gotcha' on this lady that's going to encourage the spread of such behavior in everyday life. The difference is caused by how you define stand your ground. Your source is only using those states that have an explicit stand your ground statute. But the majority rule in US common law is stand your ground, which is why many states have stand your ground in practice. Only 1 state has a duty to retreat that includes your own home. 3 of the 16 duty to retreat states make an exemption for cars as well, I suspect this is because being robbed of your car in rural areas of these states during winter could be a death sentence.
