Theres apparently some infighting in the Pentagon itself. I think they do not want to be dragged onto a street fight for Trump or his political games. Theres some sympathies for the protests too. Its a very unpredictable situation.

So far Trump has other forces to defend him. My bet is that he will try to slide the whole thing until the protests lessen. Maybe hes also counting on Corona hitting some of the protestors so he can later gloat about it or something. Which is probably the smartest thing he can do as his presidential authority is severely damaged atm.

There were tax cuts in Trump's first year I guess. "Top down stimulus". We can give the tax cuts credit for the slight improvement in GDP growth, while still questioning whether they were worth it. Tax cuts were sold as producing 0.7% annual increase in GDP and it doesn't seem they did that.
