America riots after Police kill unarmed Black Man

The thing about the riots is inevitably the people in power will spin this to their advantage. The news will concern troll like "the message of justice was lost in the violence" (they dont give a fuck about justice, like come on now) followed by the government passing New measures for "security" that in effect are anti protest measures.

It's not "spin" to report on the destruction of rioting. It does distract from the pursuit of justice. It puts burning buildings on social media and the TV screen, which takes air time away from the murder and interviewing public officials. If one is worried about distractions or another tragedy getting blown over, then looting is the thing that will make that happen.

I don't think all these things are necessarily analagous, though - the ringleaders of Tulsa didn't slowly show up dead over the next few years in burnt-out cars, and burning down a Target or destroying a police station is very much not the same as full-blown street fighting or massacres
