HK very different from the USA. It's basically monoracial and the city is super developed. Protests in the USA have had high racial tensions and have taken place in very different environments, with Minneapolis being very different from New York, LA, Dallas, Portland, etc. and really only New York is sort of comparable to HK in scale, and the HK protests were way, way bigger. Also water cannons would never be used in the USA because of optics. Looks too much like the civil rights movement. USA has LRADs instead.
