Abortion: I think it should be Legal On Demand With Time Limits
(a fertilized egg is not a human being, no matter how badly Franklin Graham wants to believe it is)

Affirmative Action: In Favor
(that is saying, generally in favor, not in every case)

Authoritarianism: Opposed

Conscription: Opposed (In Favor of a Volunteer Force)
(if the big mules want to fight a war so badly, let them go to the frontlines first)

Copyright law: Other
(not inherently opposed to it but it has gone way too far)

Corporate personhood: Opposed
(dear Mitt Romney, corporations are not people since they don't pay the same rate of income tax nor are they required to do jury duty)

Death penalty: Opposed
(the death penalty is only acceptable if the justice system is perfect)

Democracy: In Favor
(democracy is the worst idea for a state, except for all the other ideas that have been tried)

Drug legalization: In Favor of Legalisation
(I favor legalizing soft drugs, since those are far less harmful than alcohol, I oppose it in the case of heroin)

Economic ideology: Capitalism
(capitalism Sweden style)

Evolution/Creationism: Evolution
(I will call myself pro-science, plus facts don't care about evangelical feelings)

Feminism: Support
(at its core it is a good idea and there's still work to be done)

Free speech: Support
(support to the degree that you still don't get to yell "fire" in a crowded theatre, freedom of speech =/= freedom from consequences)

Gay marriage: Support
(it is not gay marriage, it is marriage)

Global warming: Believer
(it is good to be sceptic sometimes, and the details can certainly be debated, but this climate change thing isn't a partisan issue)

Gun control: Support
(the Second Amendment says "well regulated", time to take that seriously)

Immigration (legal): Support

Immigration (illegal): Other
(I understand why some people do it)

Imperialism/Militarism: Dove
(only at the utmost end of need, a last resort)

Internet censorship: Other
(I generally don't favor censorship, but some of the ludicrous nonsense you see makes you think, however "slippery slope" one might argue)

Israel/Palestine: Other
(both, this is not an either/or issue)

LGBTQ equal rights: Support
(all people are born equal, at least in theory, and we could do better in practice)

Police Support
(support to the degree that they "protect and serve", however the "Punisher" types need to be flushed out as well as those who are members of groups like the Klan or other right wing BS)

Pornography: Support
(provided it is legal and consensual)

Prostitution: Other[/url]
(I understand the argument for criminalization, but it is the "customer" that should be criminalized, not the prostitute)

Racism: [i]Oppose

(now who would support racism)

Redistribution of wealth: Support
(within reasonable limits, I mean people who actually work hard should be paid more, but for the record I do not believe for one second a corporate executive works harder than a cleaner)

Separation of church and state: Support
(absolute separation, the US is a secular country though it has a lot of religious people which is fine, adhere the 11th commandment: keep thy religion to thyself)

Taxation: Support Progressive
(the strongest shoulders... the largest burden... which I think might be a biblical thing)

Unions: Support
(unions are a force for good as long as it doesn't evolve into Hoffa/mafia style situations)

Universal health care: Support
(long overdue)

Welfare: Support (without UBI)
(I'm not convinced about UBI yet, but welfare should be available freely as long as it does not become a lifestyle)

Worker's rights: Support
(I support German style worker representation on corporate boards)

Rate your opinion of the following countries from 1 to 5, with 1 being strongly favorable, 3 being neutral, and 5 being strongly unfavorable:
China: 5
Cuba: 2
France: 2
Germany: 1
Iran: 4

North Korea: 5
Russia: 4
South Korea: 2
Syria (Assad regime): 4
Sweden: 1
Switzerland: 1
United Kingdom: 2
United States: 1 (my country, if right to be kept right, if wrong to be set right)
Venezuela: 4

Other questions:
What would you call your political ideology? compassionate liberalism (US definition)
What is your religion? science
Do you believe that morality is subjective? sometimes

What is your Political Compass score? (optional)
