No, I am not talking about creating a clone army for the Republic. I am just talking about human cloning for reproductive purposes. That way it would be possible for infertile couples and single people to have their own biological children. The same can be said for an only child that wants a sibling. Not to mention, the genetic structure of the clone could theoretically be altered to prevent the clone from having deformities or disabilities.

Personally I am fine with the idea of cloning humans as long as it is well regulated to prevent abuses. What are your thoughts on the subject? Should it legal and unregulated or should the whole idea be killed with fire?

I'm ok with cloning, as long as the written consent of the person being cloned is obtained beforehand. Also clones should be protected from abuses or slavery, and do not 'belong' to the company or DNA donor in any sense. If it would be possible to give each a unique genetic identifying marker it would be good too.

Not that legality or regulation would entirely stop misuse of said technology.

Even if you could, it would create a fair few problems for the clone, such as neural development. How will their brain develop if they are age-accelerated? I't might be possible to artificially grow a body to adulthood, but the brain is a much trickier matter.

Causes too many moral issues. It would probably lead to a situation where clones were considered less human than the "originals," which would create a whole host of issues as well.
