Next nation to leave the European union

The European Union is slowly coming apart. More people inside of it are growing unhappy of its government and its big amount of issues. Without serious reforms the EU will most likely cease to exist or at least shrink. If it will fully collapse is unknown, but that another member will leave is very likely. That’s why ask you which nation do you think is the next to leave the EU?

Any of them would be nice.

That being said, my money's on Italy or Greece.

Indeed most probably all of them will leave over time, but for now let’s just think about the next one to leave

I don't get all the hate for the EU. Europeans not killing the shit out of each other constantly seems something to keep going, if possible, to me.

The EU seems to be the source of most of the conflict in Europe right now though.

That isn’t not the goal of the eurosceptics and I would like to see a nato style European alliance, but not a political union with a horrible government. That would probably lead to more violence

Not to claim to live in Europe, but from contacts and friends that live there:

Bureaucracy, its style of government, control over their economies, noticeable corruption, issues dealing with like 25 countries at once, economic crises caused by the EU (especially in Greece)...

Compared to what Europe used to be like, with its near endless wars and constant disputes, I'm still not convinced personally.

It could certainly do with being made better, but I wouldn't rush to jump back into the old world myself.

Do not see it as a step back, just a better path for the future

The EU is trying to be the soviet union in some ways

They EU wants a EU army which would mean if polish people protest they will send in french or german soldiers. The soviets did the same thing, they would said different peoples in the ussr to quell dissent.

This is basically exactly why I (American myself) also don't like the European Union. I do think countries should cooperate instead of fighting or endless penis-measuring contests, but the execution could be much better than what I saw referred to on a GIF once as the "Evil Federated Empire of Europe".

I don't think there's a chance of Sweden leaving the EU within my lifetime, though. Looking at the kinds of ideas I see coming out of the elites in Sweden (whose government pretty much embodies everything I disagree with, and heck, that's also the country that produced Greta Thunberg, whom I can't stand), and the ideas I see coming out of the EU, they're basically perfect for each other.

Not that it matters, but the majority of EU citizens view the EU as intrusive, inefficient, and lacking understanding of the needs of its citizens. Greeks have the lowest average opinion of the EU in general.

I don't really care if the EU survives, but I just hope that this rush for national independence does not make for a world primed for yet more horror.

none of them will leave by themselves. it will be up to a socialist Britain to liberate them from the liberal European Union.

Well, maybe Ireland because of its proximity to the UK, but other than that I don't think other countries are going to be leaving.

Based on the political situation, Hungary is a natural candidate for leaving. Poland may take the spot as well if their leadership continues to experience strife with the on such fundamental matters of policy.

Ireland has no interest in leaving the EU, it has been a huge benefit to the nation. Its proximity to the UK wont effect that in any substantial way, especially with how utterly fucking stupidly brexit has been handled. And the rampant ignorance and arrogance of the British government towards issues relating to the ROI/NI border and trade.

I doubt any country will be leaving for the foreseeable future. If nothing else they'll all want to see what state Britain gets itself into outside the EU.

Why would the EU bother with protests in Poland? The Polish government would obviously be policing that.
