First of all, I'm not from an English speaking country.

Anyway, I'm German, so that would be white, but I'm also 1/4 Jewish on my mother's side and it's matrilineal. So the question would be, can you be technically Jewish and still white?

What I mean is how can we say that turks and greece are racially different when people on both sides of the border share genes? They can only be rscially different if race is a social category and not based on real anthropology.

My LA-born grandpa's skin looks half white, half brown. Like a patchwork of caramel and microwaved vanilla, to make it into a glorious food analogy.
My San Diego-born uncle and LA-born father are less extreme, but both are noticeably tanned compared to us born in Norway.

When people say they tan, I wonder if they mean they can get as dark colored as me or they go from being Casper the friendly ghost to being the same skintone as caillou.

I'm white, mostly of English, Irish, and Scots-Irish descent. Allegedly I have some Native American ancestry but it's so far removed it might as well not be there.
