Regardless if Sanders voters blew it, the entire party lost its chance by encouraging new blood over the old Boomers and corrupt hillary centered politicians. Even if Sanders got the ticket they would've definitely dragged their feet the whole way, because he's something new. Even if he's a bit of a moderate, it would've still been a direction for the party to take and not be a near carbon copy of the republicans.
