Many companies are already mass producing to avoid the manufacture step. I doubt we will have social distancing until late 2022.
The safety regulations are there specifically to screen for potentially dangerous side effects, like spontaneous cardiac arrest. For somebody who has repeatedly used the phrase "let's not make the cure worse than the disease", one would think you could understand.
Social distancing will likely have to be maintained for a not-insignificant amount of that time, though methinks stay at home orders and other total shutdowns will become more infrequent as communities adapt to better maintain distancing without those measures.
