I would just change could to "will be" because many a politician will side with the landlords and say that aiding poor families so they don't end up on the street is basically communism.

There was actually a protest in my hometown last night against the evictions. Let me go grab the video real quick.

None of this was thought through at all and our executives think people will keep following blindly following orders when millions are on the street?

Some of my relatives would be...irritated, if that occurred.

Considering that's their main source of income. It might be better to simply enact protections for both the renter and rentee.

No, instead we give people free housing because money is a made up concept and there is no reason we can't suspend rent.

Richest country in the world but we cant aid these people. America is like my job in the sense that it has a shitload of money but can't even spare a dime. Greedy as fuck.

Why not? The alternative is putting people on the street or lining them up on death row in the meat factory.

Its not a bad idea but I don't see how its feasible. If the government could regulate home and apartments prices I think they would have done it by now

Well, would've if the corporate donors approved of it.

They don't like it? No 'donations' for said politician(s)!

When I filmed this I didn't know what they were protesting but my brother caught a glimpse. We went back around and it was indeed an anti eviction rally.

There's a certain circular logic to this, it necessarily implies that we've reached the pinnacle of government.

They didn't because our government is run by corporate lobbyists who put profits before people. They gotta feed the economic machine, and it lives off human food.

They basically wanna strong-arm the poor into paying rent and if they can't, the angry landlord is just like "get the fuck out and stop wasting my resources."

Yes, the prices will be set to zero. Decommodify housing, stop treating houses as something that can be bought and sold for profit and instead treat them as a place for people to live. If you want to move to New York, you move into a place that someone else is moving out of. For free. And someone moves into the place you left. For free. The house you live in is yours. No landlord or bank can evict you or impose conditions on you, you can do whatever you want in and with your own home insofar as you are not interfering with other people in their homes. Any house that no one lives in goes to someone who is homeless, so no more homelessness. Houses will be built as and when there is a need for more housing. Lots of people will be very mad because they won't be able to make loads of money off housing any more, but lots of people won't have to pay rent or mortgages or die in the streets any more, so on the whole I think it'd be good.

I'm more talking in general.

The "we need to get back to normal" types whose solution to COVID is to pretend it doesn't exist instead of dealing with it, ironically making it harder and longer to get back to normal. The "we're totally gonna help guys!" types who end up fucking up their "help" to the point where it would probably have been better to not help. There's probably some politicians that aren't contradictory and are handling stuff well, but they're overshadowed by the first two groups (and probably more that I can't think of right now).

I'm guessing the dart landed on "destroy all support for and belief in the government's ability to do stuff and care for its people".
