As someone who has had it (never diagnosed, but I've met all the symptoms and I'll be getting an antibody test later to confirm), lots of fluids definitely helped me to minimize the worst of it. Highly recommend a pedialyte or gatorade solution.

If you have a benign government, it would not be as bad. Sadly I know not one benign government with only integer employees.
You do not want them have access to your medical records. You'll be excluded from a government function if you ever suffered from a mental condition.
If you have beef with a non integer government employee, your history of abortion/ soa/ your children's broken bones etc might appear on the internet.
And trust me, I have 4 children and I have seen the er with 3 of them multiple times. With sprains, greenstick fracture, broken bones. I myself was starting to wonder whether we parents were being abusive...(and the answer is:no, they were just being boisterous children)
You will not be accepted by any business/ government to work if you have a "condition" with which you might have to be absent from work.
If there isn't a good, secure social security, you don't want to "not work" especially if you are renting from terrible landlords who'll evict you for any excuse so they don't have to renovate their property.

Also, people are dumb. Businesses will deny you enterance to people who have had and possibly recovered from illnesses, because people are dumb. Imagine if you had Covid 3 months ago, and businesses use that to interpret that you have Covid now

As someone who actually moved to the states before, I'm gonna have to disagree.
America has some of the strictest, most complicated immigration laws on the planet.
Especially in the "west" I'm pretty sure only Australia is worse.
