Incredible leadership right there.

This is the kind of effective leadership you get with a populist strongman. Just getting in there and doing what needs to be done for the good of the nation.

Alright San Lumen, since you hate everything that everyone's proposed, you're in charge of New York State under current conditions. The USA's federal government gives you 100% absolute power to do whatever you want to your own state, then what do you do?

Let businesses decide for themselves.

I'll shit on moderates any chance I'll get, but even moderate democrats fully understand that letting business decide in matters of national health is mindbogglingly stupid.

The US is the richest country on the planet by a considerable margin. It is mind bogglingly wealthy.

How you can comment about towns going bankrupt and industries going under due to a shortfall in money coming in for just a few months without also including a paragraph of scathing commentary on the utter failings of the US federal government, State governments, and local government is beyond me.

Literally every other developed country and most of the developing countries have handled this crisis without having to face towns going bankrupt and entire industries failing. Why is the USA so shit?

You know, all this has really got me to wonder who exactly are the "experts" whom are cited all the time by journalists, of all the articles I’ve read, only a handful have actually cited the particular scientist making the claim, most just vaguely say "experts say this" or "scientists say this"

I'd suggest reading better articles.

If you’re reading online, there should ideally be a footnote somewhere which cites the particular scientists.

Ofc. That way they cannot be checked. And no doubt there are plenty of scientists will to have an opinion so they arr not even lying.

There seems to be very little interest in maintaining or in improving the US infrastructure. They are slowly rotting from the inside.

AP-NORC poll: Half of Americans would get a COVID-19 vaccine

Only about half of Americans say they would get a COVID-19 vaccine if the scientists working furiously to create one succeed, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

The CDC says that antibody tests should not be used for decisions on returning to work.

They cite the test's questionable accuracy and stated it remains unknown how immune one is or how long it lasts. This comes as Washington DC will lift their stay-at-home order on Friday and will enter into Phase One.

The Mayor cites the fact the city has seen a 2-week decline in cases and adequate testing in place though they are remaining cautious. They continue to recommend people stay six feet apart and wear masks. The order allows non-essential retail to sell curbside only, hair salons by appointments only, and restaurants with outdoor seating can open as long as they adhere to the guidelines. Gatherings of more than 10 people are still banned.
