For the record, and I fully expect this to be ignored, no, we aren't mostly against the ban and neither is Trudeau hated.

A vast majority of Canadians, when polled, support the ban in the aftermath of the shooting, and a majority of us even support a ban on handguns.

Trudeau is sitting above 50% due to his handling of COVID-19, though most people disapprove of his past behaviour. Even though the Liberals took a big hit in the last election, they were still able to form a minority government and will remain in power until they lose a confidence vote. We don't vote for the prime minister, just our local MPs. I was hoping Trudeau would get replaced as leader after the election (not that it mattered, I support the NDP and wouldn't vote Liberal even if they had a chance of winning my riding) but that's the way it goes sometimes. He's still doing fine right now.
