They're retired officials for context. I see no problem with private citizens endorsing candidates for any office, including the presidency.

Provided he doesn't advocate court packing (which he opposed in the past and I don't think he will change this position), he has my support.

That being said, I live in California, so its not going to make a difference.

Normally they don’t publicly speak of such things. The fact that so many signed a document to say this guy is fucked up should be something to think about.

Getting facts from informed sources is an excellent idea. Endorsements. however, are opinions and not facts.

Only if you're completely incapable of realising what they've based their endorsement on.
Which you're not, of course. You're perfectly aware of that. You're just being purposely obtuse.

Here's the only endorsement Trump is likely to get:

...senior leaders at the Pentagon, speaking on the condition of anonymity, acknowledged that they were talking among themselves about what to do if Mr. Trump, who will still be president until Inauguration Day no matter what, invokes the Insurrection Act and tries to send troops into the streets.

Several Pentagon officials said that such a move could prompt resignations among many of Mr. Trump’s senior generals, starting at the top with General Milley.

I just requested my mail-in ballot, and plan to vote for Biden and candidates who happen to be from the top three parties. Tomorrow I will help a relative request theirs; they plan on voting straight ticket. We will cancel each other out mostly.

I just wanted to see how many unethical people would chastise me for assisting someone who will vote against me to vote in a way that they believe will be full of cheating.

Biden has released the last 10 years of his returns, where's the NYT story about what a big cheater he is? There isn't one, because he doesn't cheat on his taxes, nor does he lie about it. FFS even Romney didn't claim some of his charitable contributions -- infinitely more than Trump has ever made -- because they made his tax rate appear too low.

I will say this, here, now, and rest my case: if Trump is awarded four more years as US President after all of this, then the US richly deserves what will happen to it; and assuming I survive the apocolypse until retirement I'll be watching its downfall from the safety of some other, more stable nation.
