Yes, and in 2020 we get to vote again, and many of us chose to support Biden or other moderate democrats. Do you have a problem with that?

Nope, as long as you don't have a problem with Republicans remembering your choice when the next primary rolls around. If you make the DNC the party of neolibs & neocons, then America would have no choice but to have a third party, and I certainly wouldn't mind that.

They'd end up being one, because of what happened this time around. When Neocon Bush won, Republican Populists and Christians rallied around him. When semi-Populist Trump won, along with Christian Pence, Neocons went "waaa!" took their votes, and went home. Should Christians and Populists support another Neocon, if he or she wins the primary? Of course not, they're not idiots. And that'll leave the Democrats as the only party left for Neocons. They're not said party yet, but if things are going to keep on evolving along this trajectory, they will be.

Democrats need to rally the Progressive Vote, and picking someone who has a record of dishonesty and mass incarceration, isn't going to accomplish that.

That doesn't change the fact that AOC literally cannot be Vice President.

I just want to take a moment to point out that the above post from the 12th of August was a joke, not as a subtle invitation to supposedly serious figures to start advancing particularly pathetic 'theories' about Ms Harris's eligibility for the presidency on the basis of her parents' places of birth, or as some sort of prescient jocular commentary on the likelihood that such loopy 'theories' would be forthcoming within the subsequent 48 hours.

Really, I didn't see that coming.

I'm not sure that the dems have to rally the progs. They've always seemed to be more a coalition of identity groups and strongly identity-aligned interest groups than the GOP(which is a coalition of diverse ideological groups). Thus to balance the ticket for all the different democrats, demographics is more important than ideology.
I don't dispute that Kamala herself may not have been a good choice. But the idea of picking a negress was not in itself terrible.

I quite agree. As a subordinate clause, it should have been separated from the main clause by a comma, or perhaps a semi-colon, but not put in a separate sentence. As a rule, starting a sentence with a conjunction is not a good idea.

Establish a truth and reconciliation commission regarding the crimes of the Trump administration and Donald Trump as a person and investigate them down to their blood type.

So then your proclamation was really just "I want Biden to do this" and not "If Biden doesn't do this I won't vote for him."

Kind of defeats the purpose of what this thread is about tbh.

As long as made clear in context, it's fine. A sentence doesn't have to be a paragraph here.
As a rule, starting a sentence with a conjunction is not a good idea.

And yet, there is nothing inherently wrong with starting a sentence using a conjunction, as long as the context makes it clear what the following sentence is conjuncted to. For example, "As long as the context makes it clear what the following sentence is conjuncted to, there is nothing inherently wrong with starting a sentence with a conjunction.".
