Why aren't the third parties making it? Are they even trying to take the local elections? Why focus on congress or the presidency if you don't have support from towns, cities, or the state level?

I'm not talking about "what ifs" I'm talking about "what works."

If the candidates not speaking to you a third party votes shows them exactly how closely aligned you are and where they're losing you. If they lose enough people for the same reasons it behooves them to shift their focus.

Sooooo? People are mainly aligned to democrat, republican and independent?

It's super easy to divide the world into the three categories when one of the categories is "not the first two categories."

The point is that if the republicans see your third party candidate sopped up a non-negligible part of the vote and that this portion more closely aligns with then than the democrats suddenly it's attractive to republicans to focus in on the issue you care about.

I am going to disregard my moral reasons I wouldn't vote for either of them.
(If I could)

I think one big thing Trump has over him is the fact that Trump is not a push over and stands his ground, a lot of people call him arrogant or stubborn or likewise because of it, however they don't realise just how much people enjoy that. Americans seem to be very strong-willed, arrogant, and stubborn people, so they want someone who represents that, not someone who will immediately fold because he doesn't want to upset foreign countries or nationals.

Strong willed can be viewed good by some people and bad by others, for Trump it's one of the reasons he got elected so if Biden stood his ground then perhaps more people would like him. He really is playing defence when it comes to politics.

Other issues are that he could be seen as a puppet or someone slowly losing control of their mind, but I don't know enough about him.

Good luck America, and may the best be with you all!

I do not wish to offend anyone nor start a political argument, I am just inputting my reasons to why I believe Americans would or would not vote for Biden.

I find this line of reasoning to be one of the most mystifying ones out there vis a vis Trump.

The guy is a thin skinned narcissist who never takes responsibility for his actions, who never actually puts his money where his mouth is, and who folds like a house of cards if he doesn't get his way, or if he thinks it might help his case.

The man is a complete tool. He is not tough, he is not "strong willed." He is a jumped up bully who thinks hes a bigshot because he seems to always have the loudest voice in the room.

Throwing a temper tantrum whenever you don't get your way isn't strong. Lashing out at anyone who dares to disagree with you is not standing your ground.
It's being a spoiled man child that has never been told "no" in his life and has never had to take responsibility for anything, ever.

He's that kid on My Super Sweet 16 who threw a shitfit because his parents bought him a BMW instead of a Mercedes.
That kid is now president.

People who say they like Trump because he is "strong" are just as odd as people who like him because he "tells it like it is" despite the fact that he is one of, if not the most, prolific liar in public life.

Conservative Fascist wannabes often confuse the strong-arming and tantrums of dictators as "strength".

Of course the reality is that dictators are usually extremely insecure and childish.

Cases in point: Xi Jingping banning Winnie the Pooh, Putin not wearing shirts to cover up his dusty Ric Flair nipples, and Trump paying porn stars to pay attention to him.

That's how I've seen it as well, what with refusing to accept other viewpoints, criticism, satire, or just people being different in the more extreme cases.

Let's not forget North Korea: if it's at the point that your country is telling students you invented the burger, it's worth stepping back a bit.

Donald Trump is huge fucking pushover. That's why he shut up about the wall, that's why North Korea slapped him in the face and be didn't say a word, that's why he negotiated with Al Qaeda and was dead silent when they repudiated a week later, that's why he called 100 wounded american soldiers a de-escalation. He is constantly feeding his own people to the wolves because when he gets caught with a bad idea he doesn't have the stones to take his licks and stay the course. He's like the opposite of the Hulk, he walks around like a tough guy and then the moment someone challenges him he turns into a pussy.

That's fair. But I like him better that way, than the way TPUP portrayed him. Maybe the American people do like bullies, but I don't.

No. Fucking no. Vote third party. When they're sitting there after election day picking up the pieces let them look at exactly why they didn't get your vote and exactly how they can in the future. That shifts party platforms whether or not your candidate wins. As long as we agree to choose between two bowls of shit they're going to keep feeding us shit.

Trump is a weak-willed person's idea of a strong-willed person; a poor person's idea of a rich person; an ignorant person's idea of a smart person. Had he not inherited money he would be standing on a street corner in Queens with a squeegee and a dirty rag. I defy anyone to identify a shred of logic in any of his public statements; he speaks to hear his own voice with no regard for what he says. He is weak as water and is making the US weaker and its adversaries stronger every day he remains in office.

Kinda preaching to the choir.

Roughly 51% of American voters want Biden and 48% want Trump. Convince one group of those 150 million Americans to vote for a third party candidate and we're in business.

... Maybe find a third party candidate that doesn't suck.
