If that's the case, then the poors should vote for a third party in massive numbers, which will make Democrats care.

Or better yet leave the DNC and form a Progressive Democratic Party, it'd be like Canada's NDP.

Which would make the American NDP a third party... I'm good with that. I'm thinking of the MFY Party: Murika - Fuck Yeah! This would be the official party song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1mlCPMYtPk

Joking aside, isn't that what the Greens, and to a lesser extent, the Peace and Freedom Party in California are trying to do?

Actually some would argue the Libertarians are the third party and while all third parties have tried they've failed. What we need to do is break up the two parties, no more big tent Democrats on the Left and Republicans on the Right, make them smaller, make it more factional, and it would be A) A lot more interesting and spice things up a lot, and B) could give smaller parties a chance to make an impact, moreso than they already do.

The problem is the first past the post system, which enhances the duopoly. The voting system needs to change.

Yes it does to a more proportional system akin to say Germany for example, plus I'd rather do away with the need of a President, and be more like a representative democracy instead, but that's just me.

What about the anti-Trump moderates and conservatives? Do we get a say or are we just chopped liver? I would rather not vote for a presidential ticket with a far-left loony.

That's the tragedy of the two party system. You get Biden and Harris or Trump and Pence. You can also vote independent I guess, but, as The Simpsons put it:

The only "far-left loony" in American Politics is Joshua Collins, who got less votes than a dead guy.

EDIT: Fake news, none of the candidates were dead.

Yeah but that particular episode ends in the enslavement of the human race regardless of whether you vote for Kodos or Kang or third party.

You had a vote when you nominated Jeb in the 2016 primaries. He lost. Next Republican primary is 2024, where you'll again have a vote. You also got George Bush for eight years, which is more than the rest of us have, so you can stop the complaining.

The weird thing is that you'd be a better choice than the offering of either major political party. You'd only be emperor for 4, maybe 8 years though.

Biden basically had no chance of winning even before the VP pick but this effectively seals it.
