So an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president? Ho hum, I guess it's just another Friday...

I would say cliton pardoning marc rich is much more worthy of condemnation than say the commutation of roger stone.

Pretty sure Trump is president at the moment.

Clinton has been out of office for nearly 20 years. Trump could be in office for another 4. I think your priorities could use some rethinking.

Why?

Point of order! I'd also would have condemned if it were a person with an (R) or any other letter.
Just pointing out that presidents pardon or commute sentences and that some are worse than others as in the case of rich v stone. IMO, stone is small potatoes.
If I had it my way, those being pardoned or commuted would have to run a gauntlet, victory = freedom, failure = back to jail or the gallows.

Who is the FALN?

Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional, a Puerto Rican paramilitary organization. They were responsible for hundreds of bomb attacks in the US.

Oh yeah, those guys. I remember now.

Why would anyone pardon a group of folks who bomb people?

Marc Rich wasn't convicted and sentenced for committing crimes to aid Clinton in covering up and obstructing an ongoing investigation of him in office. Take a drink people, for a "BUT BUT CLINTON" being refurbished to make a Trumpologism.

Congress condemned this action by President Clinton, with votes of 95–2 in the Senate and 311–41 in the House

There was also a criminal investigation into the pardon of Marc Rich. I'll expect the same level of scrutiny and bipartisan condemnation this time around.

Still worked with people who did. It's like saying "I didn't shoot anyone but I was the driver" after being arrested for a drive by.

It isnt about trump though. I'm not caping for trump, but Bill Clinton was a real dickbag himself, just as bad as the Donald.
