No it wasn't. You just inferred it. Why is that?

Why is he so bothered by a statement that doesn't apply to him? Hmmm...

Twitter on Tuesday slapped a fact-check label on President Trump’s tweets for the first time, a response to long-standing criticism that the company is too hands-off when it comes to policing misinformation and falsehoods from world leaders.

The move, which escalates tensions between Washington and Silicon Valley in an election year, was made in response to two Trump tweets over the past 24 hours. The tweets falsely claimed that mail-in ballots are fraudulent. Twitter’s label says, “Get the facts about mail-in ballots,” and redirects users to news articles about Trump’s unsubstantiated claim.

The tweets, said Twitter spokesperson Katie Rosborough, “contain potentially misleading information about voting processes and have been labeled to provide additional context around mail-in ballots.”

Twitter’s actions come on a day when Twitter was facing a barrage of criticism over another set of Trump tweets. Earlier on Tuesday the widower of a former staffer to or Joe Scarborough has asked Twitter chief executive officer Jack Dorsey to delete tweets by President Trump furthering a baseless conspiracy theory about his wife’s death.

This is a developing story. It will be updated.

About damn time.

He's gonna be in an even madder mood.

Certainly, and because Twitter won't delete his tweets, they undermine his claim of conservatives being silenced. Not to mention, while I don't suspect his supporters to view such fact checks as fake news, I do like how Social Media Companies are at least putting fact checkers to keep some people informed; it'll help with those that want to learn.

I mean, if simply being intelligent is somehow a threat to some voters then that’s on them and solely on them, we don’t criminalize being smart in this country.

So who draws the short straw on the diaper change?

It seems it be the Campaign Manager: Trump campaign accuses Twitter of 'political bias' after fact-checking Trump's tweets.

“We always knew that Silicon Valley would pull out all the stops to obstruct and interfere with President Trump getting his message through to voters. Partnering with the biased fake news media ‘fact checkers’ is only a smoke screen Twitter is using to try to lend their obvious political tactics some false credibility,” said Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager.

It honestly made me cackle.

Lawyer types! A question.

Trump as usual shows himself to be a low grade turd. Isn’t it outright libel to tweet that Joe Scarborough murdered his aid?

Wouldn’t it be the right of him and the aids husband to sue both POTUS and twitter over this?

It would because trump is knowingly accusing a man of a crime he did not commit.

If they didn't tag him on the whole "Ted Cruz's dad is the Zodiac Killer" thing.

Jesus christ. Republicans nominated that guy. Every once in a while and you think of just one of the things that should have disqualified this idiot from office and you realize it's only a drop in the bucket.

Actually Ted Cruz was allegedly the zodiac killer. Ted's dad killed Kennedy.

Ok, I can’t remember exactly how the post was phrased, but wasn’t it put in terms of “mysterious” and “just ask questions”?

I’m not saying the implication isn’t damn clear, but in court it almost has to be an explicit accusation as I recall.

Avoiding the ramifications of his actions is Trump's primary skill, so this is unsurprising.

speaking of getting away with shit, look who else got away:

The Justice Department will not file insider trading charges against Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. DOJ informed lawyers for Loeffler and two other senators scrutinized for their coronavirus-era stock trades that they are closing their investigations into the matters. A DOJ investigation into Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) remains ongoing, the Journal reported. Loeffler and her husband, New York Stock Exchange chairman Jeffrey Sprecher, have vehemently denied that their sales of millions of dollars in stock this year were prompted or informed by information gleaned from a closed-door Senate briefing on the coronavirus in early January.

Trump does realise that him shutting twitter down would be stifling free speech, while twitter adding tags to his tweets (or not placing them at all for that matter) would not be ?

Does he ?

I mean, he is surrounded by well trained legal advisors...

So..

No amount of legal expertise can weigh against a stubborn chief, and legal considerations are often only sought after the problem has occurred, much to the chagrin of lawyers who have to work overtime to solve problems that would not have been problems if you had checked in with them for two seconds.

Also within that article:

During a press briefing on the coronavirus pandemic in the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday, the president challenged a Reuters reporter to take off his face mask and mocked him as “politically correct” when he refused to do so.

I do wonder if Democrats will literally make an ad out of that: "While health experts urge our fellow Americans to wear a mask, President Trump calls wearing a mask 'unnecessary' and 'politically correct', endangering the lives of millions."

Eh, at this point, he can get away with contradictions: some within his base can't decipher between them anyway.

In other news, Trump Donors/Allies worry Trump's Campaign isn't doing enough to dent Biden's rise in the polls, wondering why they aren't burying him. The Campaign has defended its actions thus far, saying people aren't paying attention and that polling could be off by a few percentage points. However, they plan on ramping up the attacks come the summer though some worry it'll be difficult to define Biden given being in the public spotlight for years.

Jack Dorsey really will do literally anything except enforce the rules of his own website.
