Officially, the Proud Boys are not a white nationalist group. There's a lot of cross-over between their group and white nationalist groups, however.

Many white nationalists engage in a rhetorical cryptofascist/dog whistling game to make their ideology more palatable or socially acceptable. They believe that it provides them with plausible deniability, and that it gives them a chance to infiltrate more "mainstream" circles of discourse.

That's not what people mean when they say "we shouldn't hate"

That doesn't mean we shouldn't experience strong dislike of everything, just not unjustified contempt of other groups of people. They're not hypocritical on that point for hating Trump, they'd be hypocritical on that point for hating Trump supporters as a group.

I don't care about the hypocrisy of some vague, broad, undefined group that just so conveniently has no coherent platform, no universally consistent beliefs, and no agreed-upon universal spokespeople so you can attribute some vague principle about "don't hate" to said group to call them hypocrites.

Trump should be compared to other Presidents. They all kill a lot of people, except usually it's foreigners.
