I have heard this argument before on yt comments.
I can disprove it with a bit of conversation theory I call the strawberry example. It goes as follows:
If you and I where in a conversation about fruit and I said that I like strawberries and you respond with "Oh yeah I love fruit.". To anyone listening on the conversation they would think "By fruit he ment a wide range of fruit including but not limited to strawberries. Otherwise he would have explicitly stated that he doesn't like strawberries.".
When you talk about bleach as a disinfectant and then hear the responce "inject disinfectant as a test to see if it would cure the virus." yeah you are talking about bleach.
This argument of "He didn't say bleach by name so it doesn't count." is pure beating around the bush to make it seem like Trump didn't say something very stupid.
Lysol is now anti Trump apparently.
This is a common trump supporter tactic to try and deny that Trump said something really stupid or did something really evil, because otherwise they would have to admit that they made this chaos possible.
I'm fairly convinced that a majority of Trumpsters secretly know that Trump is a dickhead.
There's a lot of "he didn't use those exact words" going around. The fact is that Trump's speech is riddled with "I could say X, but..." just so he can't be held responsible for anything later.
