Indeed. We know more about what's in space than what's in our own oceans.

Gotta have a little bit of darkness within you just to survive. You gotta stoop low everyday it seems like. Stoop all the way down to the devil in these times. And then one day you look in the mirror and you realize that you ain't you anymore. You're just another monster, and thanks to your actions, someone else will eventually become as warped and twisted as you. Never forget that the best of us are just the best of a bad lot. Being at the top of a pile of feces doesn't make you anything but shit like the rest. Never forget that.

that is very amusing
i guess the sort of people who can neither commit to fulltime zoology, studying folklore, nor fantasy writing still need to have hobbies

Why?
“Cryptozoology” seems weird. Was it for writing or comprehension of character or something? It’s hard to believe that there would a dedicated college class and degree to cryptids, and taking them as if they were real beings makes it harder. WhO knoWs!?

Just seems a little difficult to be qualified in the study of creatures which are not known to exist.
right? imagine depending not on reasonable hypotheses based on an observation of the natural world and of the possible environments these monsters for the most part did not live in
but on anecdotes from folklore and myths
i mean, i suppose speculating the biological underpinnings of biblical manna is a worthy waste of time, but can it ever be really anything more than that?

The idea of human-sized animals we have only alleged sightings of but no strong evidence for, doesn't really stand up. We'd have killed and eaten them all if they ever did exist.
Maybe sea creatures. There's a lot of ocean and we haven't explored it all.

Even as late as the 2010s we were still discovering isolated tribes deep in remote places in South America and Africa. Surely, it's also possible that small populations of completely undiscovered creatures may also be lurking around.

The only way something like a Yeti could survive this long, undetected and unslaughtered, is by being at least as intelligent as a human. Does that seem likely to you?
