I love in that area, and I have seen animals from a long distance while I’m hunting that are a little larger than a coyote, jet black, and move fast. Is it a chupacabra? A Mexican wolf? A coy wolf? A subspecies of coyote? I don’t know, but I have seen enough to be open to the idea of it being real in some form. And I’m always open to the possibility of new animals that were previously considered myth to be real, I just don’t think most “cryptids” are.

I'm of the general opinion that the majority of them are not real. However, that's not to say we know about all of the species which inhabit our world, so who knows, a few of them (or similar creatures, at least) may well exist.
A population of 8-foot tall apes living in the US countryside is almost certainly false, but a strange creature living in the dark depths of the ocean that we don't know about is far more likely.

What about giant snakes and tarantulas deep in the remote jungles of South America and Africa?

Depending on your definition of 'giant', snakes of such a size do reasonably exist. Spiders can't grow beyond a certain size however, at least not with our current atmosphere, without dying of suffocation (I think).

Like with UFO sightings, a range of human error for the vast majority of them. Most would probably be honest mistakes of identification and scale, with a smaller subset being people lying or being misled, and an even smaller fraction just being mental illness or intoxication induced.

That's a decent explanation, and would explain some of the more... wackier ones.

My thoughts exactly. We know so little about the ocean. Anything could be hiding there.Rojava Free State wrote:One cryptid I find really interesting is Chris Chan. He's been spotted a large number of times in Virginia and is known to sometimes throw rocks at girls with notes attached to them.
I know I've heard that name before. Who is he again?
