Hopefully it doesn't all cause a civil war or something in a worst-case scenario. I'm not overly familiar with how Koreans feel about being ruled by a woman, but if they're at all bothered by it I can certainly see it leaving an opening for some crazy bastard to try to off the sister and child and becoming the new head honcho.

I don't see any signs of that happening yet though... although we don't even know if the stout little dictator is even dead for sure yet.

I could be wrong, mind you, but I don’t think they’d mind, just as long as it’s a member of the Kim family.

I mean, Kim Jong-chul was rejected by his father as he was apparently too feminine, and given that the northern Korean provinces seems to be culturally a titch more conservative than the southern provinces of Korea, it would not be too surprising if they reject a female ruler.

Civil war would probably be a good thing, tbh. It would destabilize the country enough that it could potentially lead to REAL regime change. I'll admit the chances aren't high of it being a preferred outcome, but it's far more likely that way.

Yes, if said country did not have twenty to thirty nukes. If a civil war happens, I dread to imagine what would happen if it fell into the wrong hands.

Well I doubt they'd nuke themselves. That'd be just a bit retarded, don't you think?

He didn't say he wanted to do it, he just said he wanted to have the power to be able to do it.

Which is of course perfectly reasonable.

Probably citing any of the aforementioned sources that were mentioned earlier, which appear to be dubious veracity.

I'm still waiting for KCNA to officially announce his death.

I don't think we would. China has a larger army, a slightly smaller navy, the DPRK has the largest army in the world, and China has the whole protecting their homeland ideology.

As I said earlier, it's hard to believe any information about NK regarding the deaths of the upper cadres of the leadership, since many of them in the past have been rumoured to be dead, only to turn up alive months later. I'd likely only believe Kim is dead if footage showed his body lying in state in an open coffin with lines of North Koreans filing past.
