There's several conflicting reports coming out of North Korea, here is all the current (and contradictory) information in one nice post:

Hong Konger and Japanese media are claiming he's either dead or in a vegetative state but, Reuters (and others) are claiming China sent medical experts to advise on his condition, which wouldn't make sense if he were dead or irrecoverable. Oddest of all, South Korean intelligence says they have no reason to suspect anything weird is happening at all.

In case anyone's curious, Donald Trump also is skeptical of Kim being in poor health, despite the leaks from a US official mentioned in the CNN article in the OP. So is an organization that shills for the North Korean government but claims to have direct access.

A train thought to belong to Kim was also spotted near his coastal vacation home, and seemed prepared to depart soon.

Honestly who the fuck knows what's going on at this point. But it seems unlikely that it's nothing.

Yeah. Even though I am certain he's not dead yet, I doubt he's completely healthy.

Yeah. I'm going to probably spend my evening watching an online live-stream of North Korean television in case Kim Jong-un confirms he's alive, or if they bring out Ri to announce the bad news. That's probably the best way we will know whether he's a goner or not.
