Also I was speaking from an emotional place of not being able to be comfortable with a person who had many partners, I find it kind of wrong of you to call me immoral or imply that I am a red-flag person because I have different preferences, if that was what you were referring to. I can understand making mistakes or discovering incompatibility and uncompromisable issues later on in a relationship and needing to break it off, but for someone my age to have 5+ sexual partners, not because things didnt work out, but because they wanted them all and to view that act as not only fine but even liberating, is such an incompatible worldview to mine that it cannot be reconciled. I see no reason for someone in my age group (18 - 28) to have close to 20 sexual partners, like where did they even find the time?

Yeah, just like fast food, enjoyably but you don't want to make it your every meal. Well at least I don't.

When I was pregnant, we would do a quickie because it made the fetus fall asleep. Otherwise the fetus would keep us both awake by kicking my spouses back through my belly. Too bad this doesn't work anymore when the fetus is born...

Indeed, Sometimes sex is about reinforcing the bond between a couple, other times its "come here a minute"

Partially because of my religion (Catholic), but also because I find it to be a bit selfish and at least a little bit degrading. Both for reasons that have been spoken about earlier - that it ultimately is both people using each other as tools to fill a biological urging - and for the reason that most people who engage in casual sex aren't ready to take responsibility in the consequences when they happen.

I don't see why they should take responsibility if they feel mellow and relaxed as a consequence of casual sex.

If they're not careful (and even if they do use contraception there's no 100% effective version), then there are consequences, and too many times, that consequence either gets murdered in the womb, or it grows up in a broken household that never was put together.

Oh believe me, there are forms of sex that are 100% effective at preventing pregnancy. And even in the other cases, the morning after pill is there.

When you go to school, you are not 100% sure to not be caught in a school shooting, but going to school is still relatively safe.

Protection doesn't work 100% of the time, but it does 99% of the time and that is pretty damn good.

Statistically speaking that’s a quite small risk or you have the most unfortunate luck.

Also broken home is often post-pregnancy. In most countries a man is still obligated at least financially to care for the child. You have a much higher chance of being born in wedlock and go through living in a broken home due to parental divorce/estrangement than being born a bastard.

You obviously are not interested in casual sex. And that is totally ok.
But there are people who don't want a marriage but do like sex. For whom "having sex" doesn't mean "life long bond", but more like " eating crisps together" it's fun, its relaxing and that's it.

I ask my sexual partners what they like, what they have tried and what they would like to experiment with.
Whether they have done this with none or with 100 I don't care.

I had taken a few steps away from the topic, apologies.

I guess I struggle with the concept of sex for sex's sake (I even find the act itself a bit overrated) because I have never heard a guy speak about that topic in a line other than "yeah I would have sex with her because she is super hot and has (insert female bodypart he likes more) but she is dumb (or whatever other insult they wanted to throw at someone they would paradoxically bang) and thats why I wouldnt date her", in any other circumstance I heard someone speak about someone else they liked, they would always go for a relationship after.

The example I gave above is the reason I would consider it degrading too, because depending on how a girl vets the guys she goes with she might end up with these colorful characters, although that would have to do with how observant or mature she might be. The only example I can think of that fits what I am hearing here about casual sex is some people who were in "friends with benefits" situations, but even that is a relationship in the form of an "upgraded" friendship. I can wrap my head around the concept I just cant really think about how it would work besides the ways I described above.

If we are talking about 2 people in a setting being like "I like you, you like me, lets fuck", I mean no offence here, but I find that to be a complete submission to basic urges (which we all have as the "most intelligent animal" but letting them overtake you isnt quite ideal). Before the sin of lust became a tool of sexual oppression by abrahamic faiths, it served as a very valid philosophical warning of the dangers of intense sexual desire.
