A death by wonton sounds like quite a delicious way to go, I don't think I'd want anyone who did that to me be punished, y'know?

I’d say to just not worry about things outside of our control and trust that our experts and leaders know what they’re doing.

Ok? Explain how it negates they are without blame?

If you are going to seek punishment of China; should you not have the full effect of the pandemic?

And that isn't what I'm replying to. I'm replying to an idea that you yourself pushed that blaming people is a waste of time. In other words, we basically shouldn't hold people accountable under that logic. I do not agree with that sentiment and believe that this needs to be the last straw when it comes to America dealing with China or America dealing with the president.

Weird.

Anyway, to the last part, because they’re blocking people now, preventing investigation and stymying efforts to find the truth, from multiple countries not just us.

That has only a passing acquaintance in the night with the cdc team withdrawal in 2017. You might as well ask why Obama stopped funding the research in 2014, or why we didn’t allow General Douglas MacArthur to invade China in 1951 and stop this before it started.

Says the guy using whataboutism as well.

I laughed really hard at this.

Am I supposed to be surprised China is doing what they have done before?

What do you hope to accomplish?

Social narrative is important. We can’t let disinformation from China control our people like we let Russian disinformation do in 2016.

People need to understand that this isn’t “one of those things”, but a failure of epic proportions at multiple levels - starting in Wuhan.

The coronavirus pandemic happened because we had the unfortunate coincidence of having idiots at several levels of power.

This could have ended or been negated at several points in history. It could have been prevented or at least weathered better had china not kept it secret for more than a month. It could have been survived in America had Trump acted fast to ramp up testing and alert the public that something bad was happening. New York could have taken less of a hit had Bill DiBlasio not told people to basically keep doing the same thing as always (and if he banned the chinese new year parade so you didn't have thousands crammed into one spot). New Orleans would probably not be as bad off had Mardi Gras been canceled for one year. Italy could have been alright had the Italian people not done something they're good at doing, which is being bad at following instructions. And don't even get me started on Turkmenistan. I think we can all agree they're about to become the world's biggest graveyard.

Depends on the country. I'm sure that is what it is in New Zealand.

I have no doubt that Trump is only doing this to shift the blame of his own screw-up completely onto China. Unfortunately for him there is plenty of blame to go around.

Yes. At this point and time it's an effort to shift blame from the terrible response. After the pandemic would be a good time to review procedure response and damages incurred. We know China fucked up. Nobody is saying they didn't.

Hey Gauth, why did we send James Alex Fields, the guy who murdered a protester in Charlottesville, to prison? It isnt like that brought back the person who died.

I'll answer that question. It's because when someone causes wonton death, they deserve to be punished. And keep in mind china was a problem for much of the world long before COVID. I still remember them forcing the NBA to not back the Hong Kong protests, and many of their supporters committing acts of violence for them at protests in other countries against the CCP. but please, why don't you cape some more for Xi and his cronies. Tell us again how because Trump fucked up, that automatically absolves Xi of all guilt.

You heard it here folks, if you don't denounce China every 60 minutes it's proof you're a CCP shill. Are you that hot and bothered to put Xi on the gallows?

Actually, lots of people are saying they didn’t.

There have been multiple articles - in the media ironically - saying China did correctly, and if we did big brother type stuff and censored information that we don’t agree with, we could have contained the pandemic too.

And they’re not being ironic.

Yeah. You go talk about that other thing and have fun - I’m going to talk about the original subject which was the virus origin/transmission theory.

Go what about to your heart’s content.

Oh there should be a review. Being busy (I am taking you mean the pandemic is in process versus it would be a bother) is part of the pandemic and I am concerned over the second wave which may happen. It could be nothing or like with Spanish Flu be really bad. Point is if we are going to seek punishment of China; let's hit them with what they cost everybody.

For this country; I think the "blame China" talk will be used to deflect rather then review and make needed changes.
